Please note that you will need a desktop, laptop or similar to be able to participate fully in online discussions and group work held in virtual breakout rooms.  Mobile devices can limit the functionality of the interactions so they should only be used where no other option is available.

The underlying technology – often referred to as spoken dialogue systems – has experienced a revolution over the past decade, moving from being completely handcrafted to using data-driven machine learning methods.

Open Assisted Living Lab seeks solutions to care sector's COVID-19 crisis

Dr Mauro Dragone, Assistant Professor from Heriot-Watt University is one of the scientists launching the open and remote access living lab to research how to create how to create affordable and socially acceptable solutions for Ambient Assisted Living (OpenAAL).

This project is funded by EPSRC and will run for 10 months, ending in April 2021.
