Dr. Hakan Bilen is a lecturer in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh, where he is also a member of the Institute for Perception, Action and Behaviour. He is broadly interested in computer vision and machine learni006Eg. His research interests focus on weakly supervised learning, multi-task learning, action and object recognition. Previously he has been a postdoc in Visual Geometry Group at the University of Oxford and received his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering at the KU Leuven in Belgium. He has authored several papers in major Computer Vision and Machine Learning conferences and received the Best Paper Award from the BMVC 2011.
